Join us in the Gazebo of the Village Green for an hour and a half work-shop on the Marimbas! You will share a marimba with another participant! A Marimba is a finely crafted xylophone made from hardwoods, with keys fine-tuned to reflect the tones played in African societies. Each key has a resonator which amplifies the sound and produces a unique musical effect - from the clear, bell-like tones of the soprano marimba, to the deep, percussive tones of the bass. Marimbas are about five feet long, with heights varying from two feet to more than five feet.
